COMMON QUESTIONS
Does the basic phase hurt?
It is done under anaesthesia; any sensitivity afterwards usually lasts 24–48 h.
Will I lose my teeth?
Periodontitis is not cured, but it is controlled. With good maintenance there is no further loss.
Does it affect my general health?
Yes. There is solid evidence of links with diabetes, heart disease and pregnancy.
